VACC GREEN STAMP PLUS ENVIRONMENTAL ACCREDITATION
The Green Stamp Plus Environmental Accreditation program assists and rewards businesses for going beyond legal compliance to attain best practice environmental management.
VACC has developed specific accreditation for four motor divisions; Dealerships, Mechanical Repairers, Body Repairers and Parts Recyclers. VACC members as well as non-members are eligible to apply for accreditation.
There are three levels in the Green Stamp Plus program; Compliance, Beyond Compliance and Best Practice. As there are three levels to Green Stamp Plus, businesses can choose which level of environmental management they wish to aspire to. However, it must be noted that the first level of Green Stamp Plus (Compliance) does not grant businesses accreditation, as legal compliance should be practiced at all times!
ACCREDITATION BOOKLETS
Green Stamp Plus booklets are available for Dealerships, Mechanical Repairers, Body Repairers, Parts Recyclers and Warehouses. These booklets have information about Green Stamp Plus, the application form, as well as the criteria that businesses must meet in order to become a Green Stamp Plus Accredited business. GREEN STAMP PLUS ENVIRONMENTAL ACCREDITATION – IT’S GOOD FOR YOUR BUSINESS!
Green Stamp Plus Environmental Accreditation is rewarded to businesses as a result of their environmental management and sustainability initiatives. We believe that businesses who achieve this should therefore receive recognition and benefits!
As a result, businesses who achieve Green Stamp Plus Accreditation have the opportunity to purchase a promotional pack from VACC. This allows businesses to market themselves as environmentally accredited and therefore environmental friendly. The benefit being that these businesses will attract customers who look for automotive services that take the environment into consideration.
Not only will this give accredited businesses a competitive advantage, but it will also give these businesses piece of mind knowing that their environmental risks and liabilities are covered. What’s more, businesses that practice environmental management at a level beyond compliance can also save money by reducing their energy and water bills!

A growing number of businesses operate their environmental management to a standard never previously achieved in Australia. Despite these achievements the industry is still often perceived as being a significant polluter due to the obvious impact many traditional practices continue to have.
The Green Stamp Plus program aims to change that belief by showing consumers how many workshops include environmental considerations in their everyday operations.
The program therefore covers key areas considered essential to reducing the automotive industries impact on the environment.

If a business achieves Green Stamp Plus Accreditation (Levels 2 or 3) they have the opportunity to purchase a Green Stamp Plus promotional pack for marketing purposes – this can give your business a marketing edge!
The promotional pack contains:
- A Green Stamp Plus Accreditation certificate
- Pamphlets to promote the businesses environmental commitment to customers
- A Green Stamp Plus Accreditation sign
- Stickers which can be displayed throughout your premises
- The right to display the Green Stamp Plus logo anywhere on the premises or on any of the businesses stationery or signage
- The right to promote the business as "Green Stamped"

*Initial fee includes one accreditation audit of the business by VACC’s Environmental Advisor.

If a business is unsure as to whether or not they satisfy the Green Stamp Plus criteria it would be a good idea to contact the VACC Environmental Unit.
The VACC offers a range of resources and services to assist small to medium automotive businesses with their legal compliance and to identify and improve their eligibility for the Green Stamp Plus Accreditation. Businesses that may not currently satisfy the requirements of Green Stamp Plus can use services such as the VACC general environmental assessments.
General environmental assessments can prepare businesses for Green Stamp Plus Accreditation, as they identify any current environmental impacts and provide practical solutions and follow-up support to assist in their implementation.
